An idea to increase donations

Did you know that this website gets hundreds of visitors each week - often more than one hundred in a single day!  While many come from regions outside ours, a surprising number come from our own community.

I'd like to explore the possibility of allowing a limited number of tastefully designed and board-approved banner or text ads to appear on this website, in exchange for charitable donations to our shul.  The ads would appear on the right side of the screen, prominently placed near the top of the column so advertisers would get their message delivered.  To facilitate this process, I'm in the process of creating a new form (which will be accessible from a yet-to-be added menu item) to solicit ad submissions.

The rabbi and board of directors of the synagogue have already expressed interest in this idea, but I'd like to hear from you as well.  Please answer the poll question to provide your opinion.

Thank you in advance for your participation.

The Galperins have a baby girl!

Moments ago, I was informed that Rivkah Galperin gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.  Congratulations to Rivkah and Rabbi Galperin.

Because of the timing, Rabbi Galperin will not be available for services this shabbat.

Update:  The baby has been named Chava Devora.

Students should have a voice

Several months ago, shortly after redesigning our website, I made an announcement that plans were underway to provide a forum for the Jewish students at the University of Windsor to get more involved with generating website content geared towards students.  In addition to the University's Jewish Student Association, which caters to all Jewish students, my goal is to have this website serve as a "destination" for those students who want to be more involved with Chabad and the Orthodox community.

I am seeking a University of Windsor student to volunteer his or her time as a co-ordinator, article author, and editor; and who is willing to help develop a forum for Orthodox Jewish students.  With guidance and assistance from our Rabbi, I would like to see this website become responsive to the educational and social needs of the Orthodox student community of Windsor.

If you are interested in applying for this volunteer position, please write me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. stating your qualifications and ideas on how you would use this opportunity to serve the local community.
